Overview

On-Device Targeting is a privacy-friendly solution that allows advertisers and publishers to leverage their first-party data to enable targeting without sending the user data off the device. Fully compatible with Apple’s ATT guidelines, On-Device Targeting enables publishers to maximize the addressability of all their user bases without compromising privacy.

For this solution, we are partnering with LiveRamp, through their On-Device Authenticated Traffic Solution (On-Device ATS) to build Bloom Filters, which represent a marketer’s target audience and that will be stored on the InMobi SDK. A Bloom Filter is a probabilistic model used to represent a large set of data in the form of 0’s and 1’s.

Marketers’ and publishers’ data are matched to RampIDs and passed through the probabilistic model to predict whether the user belongs to the target segment or does not belong to it.

The identified target segment is sent to InMobi Exchange in the ad request, keeping PII safe and restricted within the user’s device.
