I am integrating with InMobi but don’t have an app URL as the app is still under development. What should I do? test
Click Add App, and hit the link as shown below. Name your app, select your platform and proceed.
Note: For apps without a URL, the test mode is on by default. Once live, input the URL on the dashboard by clicking the link as shown below and your app will be ready to monetize.
I have an Android app with a Google-Play URL. I have created a placement and integrated but I don’t see live ads?
Unless the app is installed from the play store directly, you will not see live ads. You can go use the diagnostics mode to enable testing. This will serve you test ads.
I have an app that I’m integrating with InMobi SDK 500. Where do I see the verification and approval status?
For apps on google play and iOS integrating with SDK 500, there is no approval process or verification process that a publisher needs to act upon. It happens automatically at the backend based on the app category on the stores
I’m integrating with InMobi SDK version lesser than 500 (4.x and below). Where do I see the verification and approval status?
For new integrations occurring with InMobi SDK 4.x and below, please reach out to your Partner Manager or raise a ticket here, and we will approve your apps. In the meantime, you can go ahead and enable the test mode to see test ads from InMobi.
I have an Android app on a non-Google Play app store. How do I go live?
For android apps on non-Google Play stores, the InMobi team has to manually approve the apps before they go live. The process is the same as before.
I’m unable to create more placements for my app. What should I do?
For the time-being, publishers are limited to only creating one-placement per app. If you need to monetize with more ad formats, go through the Add app process again and select your desired ad type.
Why do I see 2 default placements, banner and interstitial under my app even though I monetize only using Interstitials?
In the last 6 months, if you integrated with InMobi and sent even one test banner ad request, the default placement has been created. If you are not using it, all metrics for the placement will be 0. Use the placement ID for the default interstitials placement if you are upgrading to the new SDK 500.
How do I add a mobile web property? Do I need to go through the verification and approval process?
Click “Add an App” and enter your mobile web property’s URL. You will then be able to name your mobile web property, select platform type as mobile web and proceed. Also, verification and approval process for mobile web property exists in the same way as it was prior to this update.
Is Payment Information still mandatory for receiving live ads?
Yes. For now, you will need to add your payment information to ensure that you receive live ads.
How do I access integration Instructions for a placement?
Hit the Placements link on the monetize page as shown below.
This will load the placement settings page that contains the link to integration instructions for your placement like this:
What are the metrics that I see on the Monetize dashboard?
Your Monetize dashboard has been tweaked to show the below metrics.
- Earnings - Your total earnings for the date range selected in the dashboard.
- Impressions - Your total rendered impressions i.e. ads from InMobi that were delivered to your app AND shown to the end user.
- eCPM - Defined as effective cost per 1,000 impressions. Calculated as (Earnings/Impressions) * 1,000
For more metrics such as Fill Rate, click-through rate, etc you can go visit the “Reports” section and pull out the relevant report.
What is the “Test Mode” button that I see next to my app in the Monetize dashboard?
The “Test Mode” button is a short cut to take you to the diagnostics page that will enable you to turn on test mode and test ad requests and responses from InMobi.
I’m integrated with InMobi via Admob. They do not support SDK 500 yet. How do I upgrade the SDK?
We are working with Admob to update their UI and adapter to enable integration with SDK 500. In the meantime, you can upgrade via a custom events implementation. A sample custom events implementation for Admob is available here.
